The food at Darbar is outstanding (truly the best Indian food in Manhattan!), and Manek is a pleasure to work with. Throughout all the changes to my wedding caused by the pandemic, Manek was extremely accommodating and kind during the stressful process. I would highly recommend Darbar for your catering needs.

Darbar catered a fantastic lunch for our office's annual Diwali celebration. They were friendly, punctual, easy to work with and the food was fantastic! Their services made our event truly memorable. We would highly recommend their services.

We used Darbar for our wedding caterer. Having Indian Punjabi friends and family, I knew the quality of food was of utmost importance, and also having our wedding in Dumbo at a "raw space" (no inside staff, etc) meant coordination was key. Not only did Mike and Preeti at Darbar provide personal service, involved and multiple tastings, including adjusting spice levels and managing veg vs non veg options, they also worked with our staffing agency, wedding planner, and silverware order to make sure everything went off. They provided back kitchen staff, and even had a tandoor pumping out fresh roti and dishes.
The day of, we got compliments from the Indian side on how the food tasted like it was straight from India, and the reviews from others, including my very New York friend who loves food (he said we had the most bomb-a** samosas he had ever had), were great too. The spice levels between dishes varied, giving everyone an option, and the layout and coordination with our planner and other caterer (Junior's Delicatessen) was great as well.

I can’t say enough good things about Mike and the whole Darbar catering team— from the night we had our first tasting to the night of our wedding reception in Brooklyn, they were attentive and made us feel like we could call on them for anything. And that’s not to mention the food, which not only hit the spot for me and my Indian family but also introduced a number of our guests and my wife’s family to Indian cuisine for the first time. The Beetroot Malai Kofta and Salmon Tikka were particular standouts for me. I first found Darbar because we wanted an Indian caterer that could also do great western style food. What we found in the process of working with Mike was that their menu was so good and so accessible to all tastes that we decided to go fully Indian. We didn’t have a fusion wedding, so we figured that the food should also reflect that. Great decision— we haven’t stopped getting compliments about dinner from our guests, and it was a very diverse bunch. When you can please a group of 150 people that include white Mississippians, South African Indians, kosher Jews, 20/30-something Brooklynites, and everyone in between with one meal, you know you’ve hit a sweet spot. Mike was on site that night and made sure that our guests and we were happy and full. Darbar added so much to our night, and we’d recommend them for any function in the New York area.

We had a party for 40 people, and the food was excellent.
Mike came to the venue before the party and guided
us in placing the order for dishes, glasses, chafing dishes,
etc. from the party supply company. Mike also came to
help us set out the food right before the party started.
His help, and attention to details was very much appreciated.
We felt very fortunate to have hired Darbar Catering Services
for our party.

My husband and I used Darbar catering for a welcome party for 130 of our out-of-town guests on the night before our wedding. Darbar was wonderful to work with. Leading up to the event we worked with Mike and Priti to plan the menu and logistics of the evening and they were always very professional and responsive. On the night of the event, the food was absolutely delicious, it looked amazing (presentation was impeccable), and service was excellent. We received lots of good feedback about the food from many of our guests, including guests who are Indian and guests who are not. Mike did a great job helping us to select a menu with items that appealed to everyone and had the right amount of spiciness to satisfy everyone. I would definitely recommend Darbar to anyone looking for delicious, highly professional Indian catering.

My office had an impromtu lunch for 13 people. I called another Indian Restaurant and they were the worst! Not helpful and then after finally getting through to someone, they sent me to voicemail so I moved on to Darbar! Mike, the manager, was GREAT! He spoke to me from his CAR!! My catering order arrived on time and the food was AMAZING!!! Darbar will get our business again! Thank you Darbar and thanks so much Mike!!

We have used Darbar Grill to cater our non-profit org's annual fundraiser for two years now. Their food is excellent and the guests always rave about how amazing their dishes are. My personal favorite is the beetroot kofta - it's unique and just full of amazing flavor. All their dishes are wonderful - their food is perfectly spicy and very flavorful. Working with Mike (Manek-ji), Priti-ji, and his whole team was great. Mike is a professional that has clearly mastered catering and ensuring his client thinks about all the needs for an event. His staff is courteous and all wanted to ensure that the event is successful. The whole team is very easy to work with and are true partners for their clients. They want to ensure their client gets exactly what they envisioned. I cannot recommend the Darbar Grill team more! Thank you for making our so successful! We couldn't have done it without your support and your delicious food!

CONSISTENTLY DELICIOUS - This restaurant serves exceptionally great choice of fine Indian cuisine - truly an upscale experience at moderate price with best-in-class service.
The variety of dishes served are amazingly good at this restaurant - so my wife and I catered the food for our daughter's pre-wedding dinner. We were extremely pleased with the outcome - not only did they manage it very well, but our invited guest from all over the country had nothing but positive compliments and rave reviews - I recommend definitely try the the vegetable samosas, Reshmi Kabob, Chicken Tikka Masala, Beet Root Kofta, Chicken Mirch Bhuna, Naans - all these dishes are really special. There are other dishes that also stand out and are served picture perfect. Every dish we have tried at this restaurant as usual is fresh with quality ingredients and appropriate balance of spices and seasonings - an art and science perfected to bring the aroma and flavor of Indian cuisine to it's full - these guys certainly have their act together. Check this place out, I am positive you are bound to have an amazing culinary experience. I am booking them again for another upcoming event, so I can delight my guests ...in the meanwhile, my wife and I will enjoy a few more trips to make our selection for the event!

I have worked with Darbar for the past 3 years. They were in charge of catering annual Diwali party at my company (40 miles north of nyc). The size of this event is huge, with guests more than 600 people. Though this was always been a Casual cultural event for my company, Mike (the owner) and preeti (manager) make sure that the quality, taste and service is top notch. I personally think these guys are the best at what they do, and no matter the size of the party and location, one can always trust Darbar and team to do a great job!

If you have an event coming up, small or large, do not think twice before booking Darbaar. Mike (owner) was so accommodating to a last minute catering request at a venue 150 miles away from New York city. He not only worked with me on the menu, offered his suggestions but also let me make my choices. On the day of the event, given that it was an outdoor location, with no facilities or full kitchen, he and his team were incredibly creative and solution oriented. Once they go to the venue, I did not have to worry about anything. they handled everything with perfection. I am a foodie and extremely particular about details, I could not have asked for any better. Lastly do not cut corner and avoid getting the tandoor and tandooriya - my guests are still talking about the kababs and naan's - it was worth every bit. Make sure to include this at your event.

I had an office party for a 175 people. Yeah it was quite big. So, I picked The Darbar catering to serve it and never regret.
Just some most important things: timing, perfectly cooked and served food, nice and very fast staff - I guess that’s all you need for a party to run smoothly;)

Excellent catering service. Owner very nice, took personal time and interest and arranged food service for 150 guests at time of my wedding. Owner personally came 120 miles north of NYC to make sure all goes well. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Reasonable price and arranged everything in a short time. I highly recommend.

We hosted a lunch party and catered our food from Darbar. Manek (Mike) was extremely responsive and worked with us to achieve a balance between our budget and the dishes we wanted. We had people who loved spicy and some who couldn't tolerate spice, vegetarians and non-vegetarians, and Manek's recommendations were spot-on. After the walkthrough at the venue, we discussed exactly what needed to be rented and what his staff would bring, and I was so glad to have a caterer who valued attention to detail as much I do.
On the day, the staff arrived on time and set up promptly. They were very polite, attentive and very efficient. They are clearly experienced and provided wonderful service. The food was excellent and all my guests were very pleased. The beetroot malai kofta and veg samosas were a hit with everyone. From our non-veg menu, the chicken lajawab, seekh kabab, and reshmi kabab were outstanding.

The Darbar team catered an event for an organization I work with, and they exceeded our highest expectations. The service was impeccable, the food stunningly good--so many of our guests asked for the caterer's info, and i heard some folks planning to visit the restaurant, they were so taken with the meal. I can't say enough good things about Darbar--whether they're catering an event off premises, or serving you in their restaurants, i have only ever been blown away by their professionalism, their warmth, and their phenomenally good food.

I recently had Darbar cater our Sangeet and I could not have been happier with the service. Mike was amazing to work with and the food was even better! In addition to catering, Mike also coordinated the tables, chairs, etc. Throughout the entire process he was extremely helpful and easy to work with.
Leading up to the event, I also ate in the restaurant multiple times and I always enjoyed the food.
I strongly recommend Darbar for catering or dinning out!

My family used Darbar to cater our Garba/Sangeet and we couldn't be happier with the service we received.! Mike made us feel comfortable and took care of us every step of the way. He helped us arrange all aspects of our food, staff and seating for 200 people. He worked directly with our venue and other vendors to ensure that everything would run smoothly the day of our event. He was always available by phone or email to answer any questions- making the process ultimately stress free. And last but not least, we continue to get countless compliments on the quality of food that was served! It was a wonderful experience working with Mike and Darbar.

My wife and I had our wedding catered by Darbar, and we could not be happier with our choice! Mike (the owner) was absolutely amazing to work with, and treated us to a tasting at his restaurant beforehand to help customize the menu for our guests. He was always responsive to emails, and was flexible and willing to help us achieve our vision for a successful night. At our wedding, our guests loved the food, and could not stop talking about the reshmi kebabs! Mike's catering staff were all very friendly and professional, and Mike himself was there throughout the night and took special care to make sure my wife and I got some food to eat in between all the action. Overall, our wedding was a huge success, and thanks in no small part to Mike and his team. I highly recommend Darbar to anyone looking for outstanding Indian food and high-quality, professional service.
